Question...

My DVD program isn't burning right. I'm using Nero (Start Smart?), and it went through and uploaded my files and everything nicely, and got aaaall the way through 'burning' the disc until the end, when it said I didn't have the right type of disc to burn on. D:

I tried two DVD+R discs, one that can burn at 8x (the speed I was using) one that can handle up to 16x. They're completely blank, and should easily be able to hold the ~115 or so minutes of video that I'm trying to burn. Yet for some reason Nero thinks there's not enough space on the disc or something.

Help?

So I just recently got an apple iBook G4 14" laptop with a superdrive so I really want to figure out how to burn DVDs. Unfortunately, it's alot more complicated than burning CDs which I didn't expect. I'm using Mac The Ripper to rip a dvd to my ibook (running mac osx Tiger) and am trying to use Toast titanium 6 to burn it. The dvd was ripped as a VIDEO_TS folder. When I try to burn it, I keep getting a message that it's too large of a file (7.4GB) but I don't see any compression options. I also tried Popcorn, but every time I dragged a video_ts folder into the program it would "unexpectedly quit". I've tried reading the help sections in both programs, but haven't found anything useful. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong and give any tips on how I can accomplish finally burning a DVD? I'm quite lost here. Thanks!

AVI to DVD

OS- OS 10.3
App- Toast Titanium

Supposedly, Toast can convert things automatically. When I try and burn AVIs to DVDs it sort of works, but when I go to play the DVD is skips around or freezes. Something isn't quite right.

I have no problem when I rip a DVD myself and burn it to a DVD.

Does anyone know what the deal is or how I can burn an AVI to a DVD? Everything on the web points to using converters (ffmpegx for instance) and that didn't work either!

Hi.

I am using Nero (Burning ROM) and have successfully burned a DVD using an .avi file which I converted to .vob, .bup and .ifo files using WinAVI.

These files only take up about half of the space on a DVD, so what I was wanting to do was burn a DVD with two of these converted .avi files on it (two movies).

The problem is that after I have added one set of .vob, .bup and .ifo files to the video_ts file folder, it won't allow me to add a new set of files for the second movie because the file names are the same as the first set. I tried changing the file names but that didn't work either.

Should I make folders within the video_ts folder to differenciate between the two movies or what?

I tried the Nero help .pdf files on the site but to no avail.

Any help in achieving this goal will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone. I need to find a slide show or video editing program for a dvd slide show I'm making a friend for Christmas. The slide show consist of pictures of my friends individually with a song associated to the person. I need the show to be one continuous clip, but the only software I found can only handle one song per show. I was wondering if there was something out there that could save, for example, annie and her pics and song as a clip then aaron with his and then splice them together as one show with their songs intact. If anyone can understand what I'm saying, I could really use the help! Any ideas would be welcome! I'm running Windows XP at the moment (I'm at home for the holidays). Thanks in advance, and happy holidays!

My problem:

- I've been trying to install iDVD forever. It won't let me without a SuperDrive.
- The current SuperDrive in my G4 has no burning capabillities. I was wondering if there was a download for it that I could maybe download to make it burn again. So far, the internet's giving me zilch.

What I've done so far is installed my HP 300i into the drive, and even though the Mac accepts it, the iDVD install disc does not.

I am running OS 10.3.
